First Five / Final Five:
- Take the first five minutes of each day to READ God’s Word.
- Take the final five minutes of your day to REFLECT on God’s Work in your life.
The Big Idea:
- In your own words, how would you summarize the main idea of the message?
From the Message:
- What are some right reasons to confront someone?
- What are some questions you would be wise to ask yourself before confronting someone?
- What are some positive ways that you can respond when confronted or corrected?
From the Passage:
In verses 5-7 Paul talks about “fears within” that seem to have been relieved by his conversation with Titus (who had shared a positive report with Paul). What do you think these fears might have been? How does the idea of confrontation affect you emotionally? Why?
Think it through / Talk it over:
- When have you confronted someone and had it go well? Had it go poorly? What was the difference?
- When have you been benefitted by correction/confrontation?
- Why are we all so defensive? What can we do to address that problem in our lives (and relationships)?
- Do you find yourself more in the role of confronter or confronted? Why do you think that is?
Take a Step:
- Truth transforms us only as we take action. What is your plan to apply this truth?
