WATERFORD COMMUNITY CHURCH - 11:00am SUNDAY WORSHIP

Mission Partners in Germany

BIO:

Jason and Sue met at a Bible School in Germany in 1977 and were married in 1980. They pursued further training at Grace University in Omaha and Denver Seminary. Having gained valuable experience in the pastorate in Colorado and Indiana, they arrived in Germany in 1992. Since then they have successfully started 3 churches in the Cologne region. In addition to working on a regional and national basis to help foster a church planting movement through training and mentoring German church planters, they are currently leading the Cologne Project, a liturgical church plant featuring jazz music.

 MINISTRY:

Jason serves on the leadership team of National Church Planting Process (NC2P) - Germany. NC2P is a cross denominational gathering of leaders of church planting ministries to learn from each other, share resources, encourage each other, and seek ways to collaborate to advance the kingdom of God in Germany.

Jason also serves on the board of directors of the Gießen School of Theology, which was founded in 1974, and is one of the largest evangelical theological seminaries in Germany today. Currently, about 180 male and female students from many countries of the world are taught by sixteen full-time faculty members and various excellent guest teachers. More than 1000 alumni are serving as pastors, teachers, or missionaries around the world, in over 40 countries.

Jason also serves on the GEM Germany leadership team and is responsible for all the missionaries in the Cologne area.

With a very public and visible office that also serves as his art studio, Jason is involved every day in conversations with local residents, Germans and internationals, who are curious about his art or why a pastor, who is an artist, would make himself so available. The space is also used for refugee ministries, church meetings, art outreach, small concerts, workshops, counselling, prayer, and play space for some of the refugee children.

Sue teaches Intercultural Competency at the University for Police and Public Administration in Cologne. All of her students are in the process of becoming police officers. She also teaches Intercultural Competence Seminars in both secular and Christian settings.

Sue also organizes all of our church hospitality meals and refreshments.

Our short-term goal is to see our church expand our refugee ministries and grow in depth and breadth to the point of being autonomous.
