allan and sue starling

BIO:

Allan was born in South Africa. He graduated from the Bible Institute of South Africa in Cape Town then worked in the office of Gospel Recordings (GR), as it was then known. In 1966 he was invited to visit the GR headquarters in Los Angeles for six months then asked to stay on in an administrative capacity. He and Sue married in 1968. Sue is from Michigan and received Christ at the Waterford church under Pastor Winne. The church has supported her since  1962. She graduated from Prairie Bible Institute in Canada, then joined GR and worked in the Los Angeles office. They have three children and three grandchildren. They currently live in Murrieta, California.

Allan has traveled extensively overseas on behalf of GR, now called Global Recordings Network (GRN). He helped to establish the network which now has offices in many countries. The motto of GRN is, “Telling the Story of Jesus in Every Language.” They accomplish this by making audio recordings of biblical stories and teaching in over 6,500 languages and speech varieties worldwide. This enables oral communicators worldwide to hear the gospel in their own heart languages.

MINISTRY:

Currently, Allan is updating a huge database of thousands of languages. He is assisted by volunteers who work on computers from their homes across the USA. His next goal is to produce interactive maps showing the locations of speech varieties and their recording status.
