 Luke 7:18-35

What do we know about expectations?

When do expectations become a problem?

1.  When they are unreasonable

2.  When they are unexpressed

3. When they are unrecognized

4. When they seem to be conflicting

5. When they are given inappropriate power

Navigating expectations the Jesus way

1.  Be aware of expectations, but don’t be beholden.

2.  Focus on what is right vs. what is expected.

3.  Don’t accept a weight that isn’t yours.

4.  Talk through expectations.

5.  Check the children.

6. Be careful about your own personal expectations.

Take some time to reflect on some of the expectations that you have faced in your life.  How have they affected you?  Write about how they could have been different or how you could have responded differently.
