1.  Way to go, church!  Sunday morning was a great cross-cultural experience for all of us at New Springfield as we were introduced to how the black church worships - and got to be a part!  It was a great morning, and I wanted to commend all of you who joined in the celebration, whether in person or online.  Your presence and participation were greatly appreciated.

2.  This Sunday we will be back at WCC as Pastor Mark leads us up the path to Mt. Hermon, our next destination

The Summit Last Sunday we hiked with Abraham up to the heights of Moriah and looked at the ideas of testing, trust and provision. On July 3, Pastor Mark will be the trail guide as we explore Mt. Hermon, also known as the Mount of Transfiguration. (Actually, there is some debate about this, but Mark can walk you through that.) Raise the Roof Our goal was to raise a minimum of $25,000 by the first of August to replace our old (and leaky) roof. We have reached that goal -

1.  The Summit This Sunday we'll be starting our summer series that will actually wrap up our year-long Life Trails emphasis.  It's been a ton of fun - and it's not over yet (so if you have yet to claim your water bottle...).  In The Summit we'll take a look at many of the mountains in the Bible and the stories / people associated with them. We'll start by hiking up Mt. Moriah along with Abraham and Isaac; the story can be found in Genesis 22. (Stickers for Wilderness Gu

John the Baptist - Man vs. Wild(erness) This Sunday we wrap up our Wilderness Guide series with a final look at John the Baptist. In his gospel, Mark gives us a pretty detailed story about John and Herod. We'll explore it on Sunday, and look at some tips for conquering the wildernesses of life and faith. Build the House On the second Saturday of each month we meet for special prayer for our church, for our community and for the world. We meet at 8:00 a.m. a

PENTECOST SUNDAY | June 5

Today, along with Christians across the globe, we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit and the difference that he makes in our lives, our churches and the world.  Also, we will be celebrating communion, and the way the Holy Spirit unites us as believers.

OUTREACH TEAM | June 6

One of our passions is to spread the love of Christ far beyond the walls of the church.  If you have a passion for outreach, we would love to add you to our team.  We will

the round up Pentecost Sunday We often lament that so many people celebrate Christmas without even realizing what the holiday is all about - the coming of Christ. But maybe just as bad is the fact we simply forget about Pentecost and the coming of the Holy Spirit - and don't celebrate his "day" at all. This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday, so as part of the service we will be taking time to pause and focus on the Holy Spirit and the role that he plays in our faith. We will

the round up This Sunday! Not only can he play guitar, not only can he play the keyboard, not only can he sing, he can also preach. Chris will be our worship leader and speaker this Sunday as we explore more of the life of John the Baptist, our Wilderness Guide. (We're going to let Pastor Mark share the announcements, just so Chris can catch his breath for a moment.) It's going to be a good service; don't miss out! Pentecost Sunday June 5 is Pentecost Sunday, and we

Re|engage One of the best ministries we offer at WCC has been on the shelf due to COVID, but we would like to make it available again if we have sufficient interest. Re|engage is a game-changing marriage enrichment class that meets weekly in a group setting. It is discussion-based, and is designed to be helpful regardless of the state of your marriage - whether good, shaky, new, crazy, whatever. (Many couples say that its greatest impact is in helping them learn to com

Thank you to all who brought in turkeys.  We asked for 25.  We have more than 30 birds spilling out of our freezers right now.  Awesome!  The Missionary Christmas Offering is continuing through the month of November.  This is a great opportunity for you to encourage people who have made their lives about sharing the ...

Generosity projects

If it seems like we are constantly asking folks at WCC to give to special projects … that’s because we are!  And that is a good thing!  We want to be a generous church, and we want each of us to personally experience the joy and the rewards of giving. In just this past year we have collected backpacks for an Orphanage in Guyana, raised about $1800 through our Lemonade for Hope project, sent over $700 dollars in change to the Next Steps Pregnancy center

The church is at its best when it’s people are committed to serving one another—and  that’s true of Waterford Community Church as well.  We encourage everyone to be a part of a  volunteer ministry because we want everyone to experience what it means to have God work in you and through you.   He is at work in our church and community, and He invites us to partner with Him in what He is doing. Our church mission encourages each of us to excel in mission, and that will likely

In case you're wondering, we are still wondering ...

... even after reading 500 chapters in the book of John. ... even after praying for our kids and grandkids 150 days. ... even after doing 85 small acts of kindness in our community. ... and even after raising $1773 for Oakland Hope. We are still wondering ... ... about "God-sightings"! The miracle of Jesus' walking on the water to check on the disciples was a very clear "God-sighting." It was a moment when He showed u...
