The church is at its best when it’s people are committed to serving one another—and  that’s true of Waterford Community Church as well.  We encourage everyone to be a part of a  volunteer ministry because we want everyone to experience what it means to have God work in you and through you.   He is at work in our church and community, and He invites us to partner with Him in what He is doing. Our church mission encourages each of us to excel in mission, and that will likely

7 Wonders Challenge - God Sightings

In case you're wondering, we are still wondering ...

... even after reading 500 chapters in the book of John. ... even after praying for our kids and grandkids 150 days. ... even after doing 85 small acts of kindness in our community. ... and even after raising $1773 for Oakland Hope. We are still wondering ... ... about "God-sightings"! The miracle of Jesus' walking on the water to check on the disciples was a very clear "God-sighting." It was a moment when He showed u...

One of the local ministries that we partner with is Intervarsity at Oakland University. They had a tough season last year as classes were mostly virtual necessitating that campus ministry be conducted largely via Zoom.  But hopefully this year will be different because hopefully the students will be back!

We would like to help them have a great year.  One of the ways Intervarsity meets new students is through "tabling" - they set up a table in the student center and try to

Change for Next Steps

Between Mother's Day and Father's Day several WCC families and individuals filled baby bottles with spare change for the Next Steps Pregnancy Center in Pontiac.  As a church we were able to contribute more than $700 toward the $19,000 that was raised for the Center in the overall project! Wow!

Lemonade for Hope

Last weekend five WCC families hosted lemonade stands to raise money for Oakland Hope.  Last year we raised over $1000.  This year?  The total ra

Lemonade - and other important things

One of the highlights of last summer was our church-wide lemonade stands - and they are back for an encore performance this weekend.  Five families will be hosting lemonade stands, and all proceeds will be going to Oakland Hope to help fight food poverty in our community.  Last year we raised over $1000  - and we're hoping for a another big response this year! To make it more fun, we're adding "punch cards." If you make it to four of

A couple of weeks ago we wondered how many chapters in the book of John we could read in a week as a church.  The answer was well over 500 chapters.  Awesome!  Way to go WCC! And last week we wondered how many total days we could pray for our kids/grandkids. We're still collecting the results (if you haven't checked in yet, you can use the link below), and we'll let you know the total in the latest edition of Waking Up! Wondering This week we're wondering something els

We're WONDER-ing...

Each week for the next seven weeks we're going to be asking a question in conjunction with our Sunday series - The Seven Wonders of the Word - that is designed to challenge us as a church (and who doesn't love a challenge?!)

So here is this week's question:

We WONDER how many chapters in the book of John we can read as a church this week?

We're hoping that each person will dive in and be a part. By reading a chapter a day you can contribute to our overall

Baptism is a really important step of faith that every Christ-follower should take.  It's an easy yet bold way to announce to the world that you are "all in" when in comes to Jesus.  Unfortunately, baptism was a casualty of COVID - but not anymore.  If you would like to be baptized please let us know.

You may have noticed the big "box" in the back of the auditorium.  It's our new sound deck complete with a new sound board.  We continue to work on improving the Sunday experience, and this project was a big step in that direction.  We want to say thanks to all of you who have helped advance this project from framing to drywall to carpeting to counter installation to wiring to training.  So many of you contributed and we are grateful - both for your efforts and for the res...

Summer Service Hours

Last summer we tried something new that most people seemed to like (or maybe they didn't, but were just too polite to complain about - which is a good thing, but we're getting off track here), and that is summer service time adjustment.  So starting on May 30 (Memorial Day weekend) and continuing until Labor Day weekend we are going to move our services up to 10:00 a.m.

We want to introduce you to our new Children's Ministry Assistant, Nichole Corso.  Nichole will be focusing primarily on our Faith Mountain program .  For the past year during COVID we have been utilizing a video-driven program, but have recently transitioned back to our live-action, in-person, high-energy program.  And it's just going to get better with Nichole's energy and passion!  If you have elementary kids - do them a favor and get them here on Sundays!
